Rankings watch
Following a strong run at the British Championships in Yorkshire on 4th May Ian Rowland has jumped back to be the highest placed ELO member in the British Orienteering (BOF) rankings. In doing so he also becomes our first runner in the British top 1000 since Kirsten Strain moved south.
Ian replaces Pete Brownsort as ELO’s top. Pete had himself enjoyed a few weeks on top since supplanting Tim Harding last month.
To appear in the rankings you need to be at least 16 and compete at a regional event (or higher). You also need to be a member of BOF – not just of SOA. Your best six scores of the previous year count to your ranking position.
With the Scottish Championships coming at the end of May there is plenty of scope for others to improve their own ranking positions. And the Scottish 6 Days this summer gives the possibility of clocking up six good ranking scores in a single week.
