Kathryn Neill has narrowly taken over as ELO’s top ranked orienteer after her very successful week at the Scottish 6 Days event where she won the W40 Short category.

With over 3,000 orienteers each notching up as many as 7 ranking scores inevitably the British Orienteering rankings underwent a major upheaval this week. For ELO members that saw Kathryn plus

Jenny and Michael Atkinson, Pete Younger and Terry O’Brien make upward progress – while anyone who wasn’t present drifted downwards.

 

Kathryn has overtaken Duncan Edmondson by a single point to become our sixth top-ranker of recent times. In the last year ELO’s table has been topped by Ian Rowland and by Robin Strain. Before them both Jack Poole and Kirsten Strain were our highest rated before moving on to other clubs.
